Computers and electronics

Computers, phones and electronics

The most common reason people call me: something stopped working and nobody knows why. I come out anywhere in Brno, or connect remotely, and sort it out.

Windows and software

  • Installing and reinstalling Windows
  • Updates that got stuck
  • Error messages and blue screens
  • Installing programs and setting them up

Internet and networks

  • Wi-Fi that does not work or is slow
  • Setting up a new router
  • A printer that will not connect
  • Sharing files between computers

At home by the TV

  • Setting up Netflix, Oneplay (formerly Voyo), HBO
  • Getting the television online
  • Signing in to accounts and email
  • Phones: backup, moving data, setup

If I cannot fix the problem, you pay nothing.

I do not have to travel anywhere

A lot of things I fix remotely — I connect to your screen, you see everything I do, and you end the session whenever you like. The guide is five steps long.

How remote help works

Frequently asked questions

My Wi-Fi is down — can you come right now?

Before I set off, we try a few things on the phone — restarting the router and checking the indicator lights sorts out most outages, and it costs nothing. If that does not help, we arrange a call-out or a remote connection.

Will you reinstall Windows? Will I lose my data?

I will. In most cases the data can be kept, but I always back it up to an external drive first — even when you tell me there is nothing important on there. Experience says there usually is.

Can you do anything with an old computer?

I can, and it is often worth it. Swapping a spinning hard disk for an SSD in an older laptop usually produces a usable machine again for a fraction of the price of a new one.

Can you set up Netflix or Oneplay on my TV?

Yes, including signing in and recovering a forgotten password. It is one of the things people call me about most often.
