FAQ

What people ask most often

Price, travel, payment and how the whole thing works. If the answer is not here, ring me — asking costs nothing.

General questions

How much does it cost?

Short jobs are CZK 350 for each half hour started, longer work CZK 700 an hour. Larger jobs get a discount by arrangement. On top of that, the first call-out in Brno is CZK 300; further trips for the same job are free. Remote help has no travel charge.

What if the problem cannot be fixed?

You pay nothing. The way I see it, you are paying for the result, not for my time. If something is beyond me, I say so straight away and point you to someone who can help.

Where do you travel to?

Brno and the surrounding area. Further afield by arrangement. A good deal of it I can do remotely, though, from anywhere — I connect to your screen and nobody has to travel.

Do I have to bring my computer to you?

No, I normally come to you. Handing equipment over in person at my address is possible, but only by prior arrangement.

How quickly will you get back to me?

I answer messages by the next day at the latest, usually sooner. I take calls from 8:00 to 17:00 on working days. If it is urgent, ring me — by arrangement I can help outside those hours too.

How do I pay, and do I get a receipt?

You pay once the work is done, in cash or by bank transfer. I always issue a document. I trade under company number (IČO) 17483824 and am not registered for VAT, so there is no VAT on the invoice.

Will you help a complete beginner?

That is exactly why I started doing this. I do not talk in acronyms, and I explain what is happening and why. No question is a silly one and I do not brush anyone off.

Do you speak English?

Yes. I am happy to work in English, by phone, email or in person, and this part of the site is in English for that reason. If you would rather write in Czech, that works too.

Did not find your answer?

Call or write. I will even answer the question of whether I do this sort of thing — and advice over the phone is free.
